SOCIETY OF SILENCE
BENOÎT LEGRAIN + NICOLAS VILLEBRUN

PARIS, FR

When two techno-obsessed producers find themselves in a room armed with computer hardware and analogue tools for an extended period, an experience transcending the psychedelic emerges.

Our experience with Society Of Silence commenced through Benoît Legrain, following his debut EP, Loud Vacuum, under the alias BNY. The waves crashing and transforming before our eyes immersed us in waking hypnosis, sparking love at first sight. Swiftly, we struck a deal with the duo, unveiling another groundbreaking venture with Benoît Legrain and Nicolas Villebrun, igniting a chain reaction that galvanized audiences with their SOS sound.

Across the synthesizer stands artist Nicolas Villebrun, known for his guitar virtuosity in the electro-pop-rock group Poni Hoax, bringing an entirely different set of skills to their live electronics project, courtesy of his experience in live music. In 2006, Poni Hoax surged into prominence with their debut hit "Budapest," produced by nu-disco icon Joakim and released on his label, Tigersushi, catapulting them to global club fame and securing a spot in Pitchfork's Top 100 the same year.

The Society Of Silence sound acts as a creative catalyst, a masterful fusion of two complementary sets of influences and psyches. The synergy births something remarkably concrete, garnering admiration from luminaries like Anthony 'Shake' Shakir and earning accolades through glowing reviews on Resident Advisor and acclaimed live concerts for Warp. The mesmerizing allure of these two virtuosos continues to captivate the hearts and souls of fellow producers and DJs on their enthralling vocational journey.
