GENNARO DI BARTOLOMEO

TURIN, IT

Gennaro Di Bartolomeo, professionally known as Dib, is an Italian electronic music artist born in 1986 near Turin, Northern Italy. His musical journey commenced at eleven when he acquired his first electronic records, inspired by his parents' sixties collection. Introduced to the Detroit techno scene a few years later, Dib found inspiration in the works of renowned artists like Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin.

In the early 2000s, Dib embraced music production and DJing, acquiring turntables in 2000 and a Korg ER-1 drum machine in 2002. This marked the beginning of his creative exploration, transforming his room into a musical sanctuary with an array of instruments.

Dib started DJing in Turin's clubs as his talent grew, exploring minimal techno and experimental sounds from artists like Apparat and Björk. Between 2006 and 2008, he produced his own minimalist techno tracks and created the alter ego Deeb, exploring glitchy electronic and ambient compositions.

At the age of 27, Dib's dreams materialized with a vinyl release under Coincidence Records, followed by a milestone release under Stardub Records in 2016.

With limitless innovation and an unwavering commitment to pushing auditory boundaries, Dib continues his intriguing musical journey, captivating audiences with an indelible mark in the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music.
